Troop 31333 Earns Their Silver Award!
Girl Scout Troop 31333 has recently earned their Silver Award after countless hours of work. It was held in the Fukaya Room at the Fremont Main Library. There were activities and informational posters. The girls worked hard and are proud to have accomplished their goal. The people attending the event had a wonderful time and the troop girls believe that the attendees left with a wonderful experience to remember.
The girls used many different tools to aid them in their Silver Award, such as: Google Documents, Microsoft Office Word, Excel Spreadsheets, Detailed Task Templates and detailed to-scale room diagram. They marketed through local newspapers and schools. One girl also did the budgeting, and learned some important life skills. They feel that they learned some good responsibility skills and many things about making commitments and following through. They showed a slide show of pictures of all of their past years, and for some that was almost 9 years of pictures. One girl made a robot out of cookie boxes to display, which was named “Cookster.” There was a table for each level of Girl Scouting with information and activities, and some additional tables. Naturally, the Cookster was placed by the Cookie table. Some of the crafts included: Knot-tying, the Brownie Story Skit, Braiding, and SWAP-making.

Troop 32272 Service Project
Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 32272 recently spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon planting flowers and vegetable plants in the Kindergarten Yard Garden at Oliveira Elementary School. Each year new flowers are planted for the Kindergartners to enjoy. For the first time, this year's garden includes cucumbers, strawberries, tomatoes and lettuce - all of which should grow and mature before school gets out - allowing the Kinders to experience fresh fruits and vegetables from their own garden. This community beautification project was just one of many community service project the girls completed to earn their Bronze Award.

Water Stops - Troops 30655 and 30697
On Saturday, March 27th girls from Cadette Girl Scout Troops 30655 and 30697 volunteered their time hosting one of the water stops for the third annual “Wordly Wanda – Tour de Fremont and Beyond ” which was sponsored by American Association of University Women (AAUW). There were several bike routes offered 10, 25, 60 and 60+ miles.
Cassie, Amanda and Ali from Troop 30655 worked the morning shift from 9 am to 12 pm.
Sara and Nicole from Troop 30697 helped with the afternoon shift from 12 to 3 pm.

The water stop was located at Newark Community park, right off Newark Boulevard. The girls helped set up the area and prepared cut fruit, trail mix, mini muffins, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and of course Girl Scout cookies. The girls cheered the riders on and helped them refuel along their ride. It was a lot of fun and maybe next year we may even attempt the ride.
